Q: How quickly can you install a lift for me?
A: Straight lifts can be installed in less than a day, curved lifts a full day and through-the-floor or vertical lifts require 1-4 days depending on manufacturer and Model. All installations may additionally require building, electrical or plumbing work which we can arrange and coordinate.

Q: Is a stairlift expensive to run?
A: No, stairlifts are very efficient and do not use a great deal of electricity to run.

Q: Do you give free quotations and advice?
A: Our quotations are free. Our sales staff have a great deal of industry knowledge and are not commission driven so our advice is informed and impartial. Call 00 (34) 635 726 764 to speak to an advisor.

Q: I do not have solid walls, is this a problem?
A: Stairlifts are fixed to the stair treads, not the walls so it does not matter what type of internal walls you have.

Q: Can a stairlift go round corners?
A: Yes, curved stairlifts can be fitted to go around the corners of most staircases.

Q: We have a narrow staircase, will a lift fit?
A: Stairlifts are designed to take up very little space, we will almost certainly be able to find a stairlift solution for your installation. Alternatively we offer two types of lift which require little modification to your house or flat and are quite inexpensive to install and run.

Q: What kind of breakdown cover do you offer?
A: We offer three comprehensive levels of service agreement to give you the best support options and peace of mind.

Q: What is the safe weight limit that a stairlift can carry?
A: Depending on the installation, stairlifts can carry up to 25 stone or 160 kilos safely.

Q: I have a radiator that will be in the way and no convenient electrical supply.
A: Our pre-installation survey will highlight any preparation work required and will be included within our quotation.

Q: Will the lift make a lot of noise?
A: Stairlifts and both lifts we supply are reasonably quiet in operation.

Q: Will the installation cause any damage to my property?
A: Most installations should not create much mess. Our engineers will be tidy and will make good after work is completed, but not decoration.

Q: Will I need to redecorate once my stairlift is installed?
A: Your stairlift will be fitted to your staircase, not your wall so in most cases the answer will be no. In some instances you may have to have a handrail or a window sill reduced in order to avoid clashes with your new stairlift, in which case some minor re-decoration may be needed after the lift is installed.

Q: What if I want to have a new carpet fitted?
A: Your stairlift can be removed and refitted to allow for the laying of new carpets or floor tiles. NS mobility services offers this service and if you need more advice please call us on 00(34) 635 726 764.

Q: What happens if there is a power cut?
A: There’s no need to worry, all stairlifts supplied by NS mobility services are operated by batteries, these re-charge when your stairlift is left on a charge point. This means your stairlift will continue to work if the power supply is interrupted for a limited number of trips. Curved stairlifts have designated charge points whilst straight stairlifts will charge wherever they are left on the track.

Q: What happens if I leave my stairlift off charge?
A: Audible and visual signals will alert you that your lift is not on a charge point. The power supply to the stairlift should remain switched on at all times. If stairlift batteries are allowed to go completely flat they may need to be replaced.

Q: Can I have an outdoor stairlift?
A: Yes, there are stairlifts designed for outdoor installation.
